History

Originally constructed in 1981, it opened as a country club the property was sold and became Diamond Springs Casino, which was again sold in 1986 to become Lasseters Hotel Casino. The property is named after Lewis Hubert Lasseters also known as Harold Bell who, in 1897 claimed he had discovered a rich gold reef near Alice Springs (named Stuart at that time). This gold reef is now referred to as Lasseters’ Reef but has since never been located. Lasseters Hotel Casino celebrated it's 30th birthday this year with a free community concert on the front lawns showcasing an array of local talent, Las Vegas Cabaret Performers, a fireworks display and international singing star Stan Walker as the headlining act.

Seventy additional accommodation rooms were built in 2002 and a joint venture with the Northern Territory Government saw the construction of the Alice Springs Convention Centre.

Over its 30 year history, Lasseters Hotel Casino has been renowned for its generous community involvement through assistance with many of Alice Springs' most prominent as well as smaller events, charities, sports teams and local schools.
