Morgan departs Lasseters Hotel Casino for Darwin

Chief Operating Officer of Lasseters Hotel Casino Brad Morgan leaves the hotel casino after four years to join the SkyCity Group.

Lasseters Hotel Casino will say goodbye to their leader of four years Brad Morgan on Friday 1st October 2010 he departs Alice Springs to take on the role of General Manager at SKYCITY Darwin.

Morgan moved to Alice Springs to take up the role of General Manager for Lasseters Hotel Casino from Brisbane where he was General Manager of the Broncos Leagues Club.  He advanced through the Lasseters Group to the position of Chief Operating Officer where he was responsible for all of the Group’s Australian and New Zealand properties.

During Morgan’s time in Alice Springs he has contributed significantly to the community with involvement in the coordination of the Alice Springs liquor accord to assist licensed venues reduce the number of alcohol induced incidents.  He led the completion of The Juicy Rump, a $4M building program that has added a significant dining and entertainment facility to Alice Springs.  Morgan was the force behind approval for the $40M building program to take place at Lasseters Hotel Casino in 2011.  The building program will increase the existing facilities by 70 hotel rooms, a commercial gym and day spa, new resort style pool, increased casino facilities and bars and restaurants.  Morgan also recognised the need for Lasseters Hotel Casino to be more involved in community events and this year alone has seen over $350,000 dedicated to sponsorships and donations to the Alice Springs community.

Morgan says “My family and I have enjoyed our time in Alice Springs forming lifelong friendships and being active within the community, I’m looking forward to seeing what the future brings for this vibrant township". 

Current Casino Manager – Operations Division Craig Jervis will take on the caretaker role of Lasseters Hotel Casino until an announcement is made for Morgan’s replacement.  Jervis was the properties Hotel Manager prior to his current position and was awarded the Central Tourism Australia ‘Young Achiever’ award in 2009.  Jervis holds a Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism, an Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management and a Diploma in Adult Teaching.

As the General Manager of SKYCITY Darwin, Morgan will be responsible for all facets of the venue including overseeing a major building project which includes a five star resort located adjacent to the current property and an upgrade to their eating areas and VIP gaming rooms.
