Lasseters helps the kids this Christmas

Lasseters Hotel Casino has donated $1000 to the Acacia Hill School for students with special needs using funds they would have otherwise spent sending their Christmas cards.
Not only will the environment benefit from Lasseters Hotel Casino not sending out tangible Christmas cards this year, but the community will too. Lasseters Hotel Casino has donated the $1000 they would have spent on graphic designing, printing and distributing their yearly Christmas card to the Acacia Hill School in Alice Springs to help students with disabilities.
Lasseters Hotel Casino Marketing Manager Megan Thompson says “Our management team wanted to do something that would benefit our community instead of simply sending another Christmas card. After brain storming we concluded that we’d send an environmentally friendly e-card and we would donate the money we would have spent on creating the Christmas cards to a worthy Alice Springs school and the Acacia Hill School was top of our list”.
Acacia Hill School on Spearwood Road in Alice Springs is a special-purpose school that has 54 students enrolled. The school believes in giving their students every opportunity to grow and develop within our community and they strive to develop the talents and skills of their students whilst encouraging them to become involved in their community at any level and on any occasion.
The donation from Lasseters Hotel Casino will be put towards constructing a purpose-built playground area for their students from early child care to pre-school up until 7-8 years old. Having the right play equipment will assist students in developing their playing skills, learning to crawl and swing and improving their flexibility.
Acacia Hill School Principal Mark Killen says “On behalf of the students, their families and our teaching staff, we would like to thank Lasseters for their kind donation; community support such as this makes a great difference to the lives of our students”.
Lasseters Hotel Casino has 140 rooms, four restaurants, two bars, a sports lounge and an international standard casino. It is attached to the Alice Springs Convention Centre and is framed by the magnificent MacDonnell Ranges.
