Lasseters Hotel Casino and the Alice Springs Convention Centre will host an all age’s benefit concert on the lawns of the Juicy Rump to raise money for those affected by the Queensland flood disaster.

On Friday 28th January the Juicy Rump lawns will be transformed into a fundraising Mecca with food and drink stalls and live entertainment by local musicians, TV personalities and an appearance by our very own Mayor Damian Ryan.

Local artists performing include Juicy Rump resident musician Gareth J Dawkins, Leon Spurling, Dr Strangeways, Catch the Fly, Miazma, vocalist Claire Ryan and the Polynesian Dance Group. Yamba is making an appearance between 6pm and 6.30pm and Imparja newsreader and Alice Springs local Ryan Liddle will host the event. All entertainers are donating their time.

The event kicks off at 6pm sharp with the objective to raise as much money as possible through a gold coin donation to enter, raffles sales and donations.

Lasseters Hotel Casino Marketing Manager Megan Thompson says “Lasseters wanted to help those suffering from the devastating floods and we thought a community focused concert was an appropriate channel for those who wanted to get involved to do so.”

In addition to organising and hosting the Queensland Flood Relief Concert, Lasseters Hotel Casino and the Alice Springs Convention Centre are donating $5000 to the relief fund.

Ms Thompson adds “The support from the community has been overwhelming with Imparja Television, SunFM, Harvey Norman and Staging Connections named as major sponsors donating services, product, staff time and funds to the event.”

Additional donations of goods and services have been received from local businesses and sports clubs including the Alice Springs Airport, Alice Springs Town Council, MacDonnell Shire Council, the Chamber of Commerce, Country Cool Rooms and Sadadeen Party Hire, the Vikings Rugby League Club and the Central Australian Spacific Rugby 7’s Team, Voyages Ayers Rock Resort, Expose This Photography and Lil Antz Childcare.
