Lasseters sponsors Vikings Rugby League

Lasseters Hotel Casino and The Juicy Rump announce sponsorship of Central Australian Rugby Football League Grand Final title holders, the Vikings Rugby League Club for second consecutive year.
Lasseters Hotel Casino Marketing Manager Megan Thompson says “We are proud to be associated with the team for a second year. The Vikings is made up of a group of talented and dedicated sportsman who deserve commercial backing to participate at this level.”
The 2011 Vikings Rugby League line-up includes Tui Ford; Schaylen Parai, Jono Schwalger, Diaz Sharrock, Pahou Whakaruru, Heber-Jay Martin, Kalisito Wulf, Marcus Harding, John Tauturi, Salesi Taumalolo, Jason Farnil and Adam Donaldson.
The Vikings Rugby League Club produced the only player from Alice Springs (Tui Ford JNR) to be selected to represent the NT Titans in Adelaide in 2010. Jono Schwalger also previously represented the NT Titans.
The Central Australian Rugby Football League has been in existence since 1963 and has four competitors, the Central Memorial Bulls, the United Magpies, the Vikings and the West Dragons. The competition started on Saturday 14th May and continues for 12 weeks with the Grand Final playing at Anzac Oval on 3rd September 2010.
The 2010 competition was won by the Vikings when they clashed with the West Dragons at Anzac Oval. The score was 42-50. The game went into overtime with the winning try scored by Schaylen Parai.
The Alice Springs Grand Final saw a team made up of Vikings members go onto play against National and International teams at the Northern Territory Rugby Union (NTRU) Competition which they also won.
Vikings Rugby League Club President Heber-Jay Martin says “We’re happy to have Lasseters and the Juicy Rump back on board for another year, the team is fit and eager to strive towards Grand Finals again this year.”
Lasseters Hotel Casino has 140 rooms, four restaurants; two bars a sports lounge and an international standard casino. It is attached to the Alice Springs Convention Centre and is framed by the magnificent MacDonnell Ranges.
Lasseters Hotel Casino is currently undergoing a $35million facelift over the next 24 months that will give the venue 66 additional accommodation room, a 240 seat dining space, a new hotel entrance and reception area, a new resort pool area, 100 additional electronic gaming machines, four new table games, a VIP Room, a day spa and commercial gym facility as well as aesthetic, landscaping and back of house upgrades including a new laundry and an additional 120 car parking spaces.
