Over 1500 people turned out for the free, all ages concert at Lasseters to celebrate 30 years.

The Lasseters 30th Birthday Concert event was hosted by funny men Krusty (Michael Beattie) and Adam Connelly, former Alice Springs radio personalities.  The entertainment line-up followed what was done at the opening night extravaganza in 1981 with local school performers, cabaret show girls, fireworks and an international star.

Sixteen year olds Elsie Lange, Rona Glynn-Mcdonald and Ben Hall from Small Jupiter took the stage first, followed by The Unknown Artists featuring Evan Smith, Sineon Sheppard, Nick Liemandt.  Up next were the Vegas Cabaret Showgirls, then Exit Earth consisting of Leon Spurling, Gareth J Dawkins and Shane Burke.  The Warburtons featuring lead singer Catherine Satour, Tony Dorr, Ben Graham, Kenny Glaze and Adam Provis were the act before the headline act.  Headlining the concert was 2009 Australian Idol Winner Stan Walker who was chosen by an online poll.

Lasseters Hotel Casino Marketing Manager Megan Thompson says “The Lasseters Team wanted to put on a free event where the entire community could attend if they wanted too.  The local entertainment was truly impressive, we should be very proud of our local musicians!”

Stan signed autographs and had photos with his younger fans before the concert started and visited the RSPCA Alice Springs Inc Animal Shelter to raise awareness against animal cruelty.

In April this year Lasseters commenced a $35 million development of the venue.  Lasseters currently has 140 rooms, four restaurants; two bars a sports lounge and an international standard casino.  It is attached to the Alice Springs Convention Centre.
