Haunting Weekend at Lasseters
Monday, 31 October 2011
For the second consecutive year Lasseters Hotel Casino transformed into the place to be this Halloween in Alice Springs.
Scaringly realistic mutated limbs, skulls, spider webs and a coffin were the norm at Lasseters last weekend as they celebrated Halloween with their annual Haunting Halloween Weekend.
The spooky celebrations started on Saturday 28th October with the Horrific Halloween Party on the Deck of the Juicy Rump. Over 500 party goers entered the event through the Juicy Rump ramp that was transformed into the Tunnel of Terror reminiscent of a horror film. The party attendee costumes included an Edward Scissor Hands (Best Dressed Male winner); Predator (Best Dressed Male Runner-up); V for Vendetta (Best Dressed Female winner); the Wizard of Oz Clan complete with Dorothy, The Tin Man, the Lion, and the Witch (Best Dressed Group winners); The Walking Dead with Corpse Doctor, Nurse and Patient (Best Dressed Group Runner-up), Amy Winehouse, Futurama couple and Fred and Wilma Flintstone. The party featured local band The Warburton’s, a best dressed competition and a live DJ.
Lasseters Hotel Casino Marketing Manager Megan Thompson said “the Lasseters team have a lot of fun putting the Halloween campaign together. It takes a lot of people and a lot of hours to theme the venue and it’s 100% worth it! We love giving our community something unique to enjoy each year”.
The Tunnel of Terror was also open on Halloween night (October 31st) so children dressed in costume could enjoy it. Children also received a Candy Bag if they dined in the Juicy Rump.
Lasseters Hotel Casino has 140 rooms, four restaurants; two bars a sports lounge and an international standard casino. It is attached to the Alice Springs Convention Centre and is framed by the magnificent MacDonnell Ranges. The venue is currently undergoing a $35 million development.
