Lasseters spreads the Christmas cheer with $20,000

Christmas has come early for seven lucky Alice locals who have won a share in $20,000 cash from Lasseters Hotel Casino.
Seven lucky Alice Springs households are rejoicing in an early celebration for Christmas after they shared in a $20,000 Christmas Cash Giveaway at Lasseters Hotel Casino on Sunday 4th December.
By playing in the casino between 30th October and 3rd December, members went into the draw of $20,000 cash. On Sunday 4th December, a winner was drawn and announced every half hour from 2.30pm. The winner then slected one of the seven presents that were on display, each present then showed the winning amount underneath. Seven draws took place with cash amounts fluctuating from $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 and the largest $5,000.
One of the fortunate winners included an overjoyed Janet Williams, a teacher’s aid at Gillen Primary School. Williams moved to Alice Springs for love over 25 years ago and has a son in Darwin and daughter in Perth. Williams says ‘I can’t wait to spend Christmas with my daughter and grandchildren in Perth and this money will most likely go towards some Boxing Dale Sales shopping and presents for my family. Another one of the lucky seven was Steven Zanca, owner of local business Aldirect Plumbing and Gas Fitting. Zanca moved to Alice Springs over 10 years ago as a plumbing contractor and loves all the friendly people here. Zanca says ‘I am heading down to Melbourne for the Christmas break so this prize will be used as extra spending money on my holidays’.
In April this year Lasseters commenced a $35 million development of the venue. Lasseters currently has 140 rooms, four restaurants; two bars a sports lounge and an international standard casino. It is attached to the Alice Springs Convention Centre.
